Sponsorship Information

On behalf of the local Organizing Committee for the 13th Annual Solanaceae Conference, we invite your organization to join in sponsoring our 2016 annual meeting being held at the University of California, Davis on 12-16 September 2016.

Since 2003, the Solanaceae community has met annually to highlight research progress especially related to genomics research of the Solanaceae species. For the first time since the 2007, the annual meeting will be held in the US. It has been scheduled and located to highlight the considerable contributions, resources and advances that have been made by UC Davis and the many agricultural and genomic enterprises in the northern California and Central Valley regions. As Solanaceae crops are major economic and agricultural products of this region, the meeting will include presentations and tours related to the application of advances in the genomics of the Solanaceae. Hence, the meeting has been titled

SolGenomics: From Advances to Applications

Here are some highlights planned for the Solgenomics 2016 meeting at UC Davis:

  • Over three days of oral presentations, themed sessions of invited talks by domestic and international professionals from the public sector and industry to discuss genomic tools, advances and applications for the Solanaceae species
  • Poster and invited speaker sessions featuring competition-winning graduate students
  • An opening reception with live music following a keynote speaker’s talk (September 12th)
  • A gala garden banquet with a distinguished speaker and a live band at the UC Davis Robert Mondavi Institute’s Good Life Garden (September 14th)
  • Arranged tours and visits to University of California and USDA facilities and the many agricultural and genomic companies in the vicinity of Davis.

Sponsor contributions will be used to help offset costs of facilities, refreshments, meals, conference fees and graduate student travel in order to deliver a top-notch, professional conference. We have created several levels of sponsorship funding, each with attractive benefits (please see below). We encourage sponsorship from both public and commercial sectors. We gratefully acknowledge support of previous meetings and look forward to your help in building on the successes of those meetings.

This year we have added a new potential benefit! Major sponsors will be offered the options to prepare an on-line information portal linked to the meeting and to host tables at the lunches for attendees to hear presentations about sponsors and their industries.

We look forward from hearing from you, and hope that you can lend your support to this very important group and meeting. Upon receiving from you the level of commitment by 31 December 2015, our Treasurer will invoice the amount you have committed and provide you with payment details. We will be happy to coordinate your sponsorship.
